MouseMingle started in December 2015 and worked well for many years, but in 2021 PayPal almost succeeded in killing the site, so we made the site free until we could resolve the payment issue. Keeping MouseMingle Safe

To all who are fans or who have used MouseMingle – thank you! And more importantly, thank you for your patience. After PayPal tried to kill MouseMingle in 2021 we made the site free for everyone, and we’ve had a rough go of making payments on the site work as they should. After several failed attempts at getting the code to work with a trusted payment processor, we finally found the right solution and paid memberships are working again.

Why are paid memberships so important?

There are two good reasons for paid memberships on MouseMingle.com: The first reason, which is probably the most important, is that paywalls (memberships) stop the vast majority of scammers who prey on good people who are looking for their Mickey or Minnie. Scammers will almost never pay for a membership just to try to scam other people – so requiring a payment makes the site safer. The second should be obvious – it costs money to host, manage, and further develop the website, and to generally run the business.

We’re REALLY excited to have gotten this solution in place, and we’re rededicating ourselves to making MouseMingle better in the coming year.

One area we’re going to focus on is the mobile experience. Early on, we spent many months trying to get a mobile app working. It was frustrating that Apple kept refusing our simple iOS app, and we finally decided to quit wasting time and money. Over the next many months, we’re going to work on making the mobile web experience what it should be, so that it works on all mobile platforms. That said, it will still take some time, as there’s been no revenue coming in to pay for that work. So again, we’re asking for your patience. MouseMingle will get better – we want to make it easier for Disney fans to make new friends, or to find the love of their life.

MouseMingle exists because we all want to share our love and our passions with someone who loves Disney as much as we do. The big dating sites have a lot of people – but those sites don’t focus on what’s so dear to our hearts – Disney, Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel.

MouseMingle has always been about people, relationships, and magic – but now after 5 years, PayPal suddenly says that MouseMingle “violates” their “acceptable use policy“, and they’ll no longer process payments for us. This is a devastating loss of revenue.

I started MouseMingle in 2015 because I wanted to find my “Minnie” – just as so many people have found their Mickey or Minnie since MouseMingle started. Walt Disney once said, “You can design and create, and build the most wonderful place in the world. But it takes people to make the dream a reality.” Sadly, because of PayPal, we were forced to make a difficult choice. Either shut down MouseMingle.com and be another victim of Big Tech vs. Small Business or, try something different. We decided to try something different – we’re making MouseMingle FREE for all members until we can figure out how to accept payments again.

So, what does this mean for you?

It’s been 5 years since MouseMingle launched, on December 1, 2015.

As a single Disney fan myself, I want MouseMingle to be a place for people who love all things Disney, to find someone they can truly share their passion with – and not just their passion for Disney, but their passion for life. I want people to bring their own magic to their profile, and to their MouseMingle experience. I want MouseMingle to be a place where fans can find that special someone to share their lives with, along with all the fun that Disney, Star Wars, Pixar, and Marvel brings to them.

In the past 5 years, I’ve gotten wonderful messages from people who have met their Mickey or Minnie, their Leia or Han, their Ellie or Carl, and their Peggy or Steve. I’ve teared-up looking at photos of couples who have met on MouseMingle, seeing how they are enjoying their lives while visiting Disney Parks, and just enjoying being with each other. I’ve had the honor and privilege of performing a wedding for one MouseMingle couple, and I’ve gotten incredible joy from seeing other MouseMingle couples’ photos and videos of the babies they’ve brought into their loving relationships.

On many occasions, as I review profiles and watch for the ‘Peg Leg Pete’ characters who try to cause trouble, I find myself choking up, seeing all the people from all over the world who have taken the time to create a profile – and to see those who have been on the site for a while, but keep coming back, looking for their Prince or Princess. It gives me hope that one day my own Princess will join the site and find my profile… or send me a wink back. That’s something I’ve learned from the many people who have made meaningful connections on MouseMingle – that it often just takes a wink to get things started.

I’m so sincerely thankful to all of you who are on the site, and who take the time to spread the word to other Disney fans. I’m sure you want the same thing I do… for people be happier in their lives, by helping them find someone who adds magic to their relationships.

Finding that special someone that loves Disney just as much as you do can be a challenge. Believe me, I know. I’m an avid Disney lover who grew up with a cabinet of Disney VHS tapes and, thankfully, was fortunate enough to have annual family trips to Disney parks. However, when it came to finding my special someone, no one really seemed to understand me – until I found my own Disney fan where the magic really clicked.

My prince charming and I met online. At first it was just like any other online dating chat about the weather, jobs, love of coffee. Neither of us really remember how the subject came up, but the defining moment that we both say changed our perspective on the relationship was when we had a movie quote war from Finding Nemo. Ever since that day, I have found out that dating a Disney fan IS all it’s cracked up to be. What makes these Disney fans worth dating?

Dream Chasers

If there’s one thing Disney teaches us, it’s that with the help of some Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust, you can achieve anything you set your heart to. Disney lovers of all ages have been taught to dream, and follow their heart. I don’t know about you, but I got tired of dating lost boys. Having someone with ambitions, goals, and dreams will go far in this world. Even if they don’t make it to Neverland, you’ll feel inspired in their presence to follow your own dreams.

Inspired Romantics

Not everyone can take you on a magic carpet ride to faraway places, and that’s okay. Disney fans have had quite a few role models on relationships. Not everyone can host their wedding at Disney, but you can visit the parks on your anniversary and get an anniversary button from Guest Relations – and Cast Members will be congratulating you on your love all day long!
