We get emails from MouseMinglers asking ‘How do I get my profile featured on your social media?’ Good question!

If you want to be seen by more people, here’s the steps:

Fill out your profile! If you’ve only filled out the basics, your profile won’t get picked to be featured (Plus people might think you’re boring.)
In the ‘Extended Questions’ section of your profile, be sure to choose “Yes” to the question: “MouseMingle can feature my profile on social media”.
Upload at least 7 photos of YOU showing your Marvel / Star Wars / Disney passion.

Now, doing that doesn’t mean you WILL get featured, it just means we CAN feature you. We’ll randomly pick different people from different parts of the world to share on our social media sites (if they’ve done the three steps above!)

Now go send some winks and messages! And remember – Not all treasure is silver and gold.

What are the BEST Disney wedding centerpieces?

Good stories are never too old to share. In this case, we’re sharing Degrees North Images story of their beautiful wedding photography from “Ashley and Ty’s Disney inspired wedding”. But more specifically, we’re sharing the theme of their wedding – of course, it’s Disney. You’ll choke up a little bit looking at these photos. This couple clearly loves Disney. (And be sure to go look at Degrees North Images site!)

To start, the cake toppers. So sweet and wonderful! Carl and Ellie’s chairs are such a wonderful message that this couple plans on growing old together.

Each table had a Disney movie theme. Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Frozen, Peter Pan, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid. How magical and special this wedding was, not just for the happy couple, but for all of the people in attendance. Disney touches the lives of so many people, in so many different ways. Ashley and Ty obviously know how to make people happy.

Singles Guide to Surviving Thanksgiving

Family gatherings can be extra intimidating when you’re single, but that’s no reason to miss out on the fun! Follow these simple rules and you’ll be sure to not only survive Thanksgiving dinner, but you may actually enjoy it!

Remember, YOU are in the driver’s seat!

One of the best parts about being single for the holidays is that you aren’t tied down to the commitments of spending your day with any one group of people. You have the option of accepting only the invites YOU really want to attend. Choose to spend the day with family or choose to spend it with friends, either way, don’t assume you’re being invited out of pity… Thanksgiving is not a couples-only holiday!

Also, you literally are “in the driver’s seat” so you can choose to come and go as you please. Always be polite, but if you start to feel uncomfortable, out of place, or just want to go home and watch your favorite Disney movie, you’re more than welcome to excuse yourself.

Try to remember that being single for the holidays is not the worst thing in the world. Relax and enjoy yourself – you’re among loved ones! This is the time to let your true colors shine and to remind yourself that YOU are enough, everyone else already knows you are, so trust it!

Offer to help

There are no obligations or expectations set for you when you are flying solo, so embrace the meaning behind the holiday and give back. Help out in the kitchen or donate your time to those less fortunate, no matter how your offer your help, it will be appreciated!

Scar may not have been the nicest uncle or brother in the world, but he made a great point. Always be prepared for those questions that may come your way from well-meaning family and friends.

Above all else, remember to celebrate you and all your accomplishments. You have a lot to be grateful for this year, so spend a little time this holiday season to take inventory all that you DO have. Romance will come, in the meantime…

You may not have the luxury of your own fairy godmother, but with the magic of photography, you can make your inner prince or princess shine. With a few quick tips, you can have a profile photo that will let the world know you are here and ready to MouseMingle!

Show Me Please, Who YOU Are

I think we can all agree that Mickey Mouse is one dapper dude, and we LOVE that he’s your favorite character, but your fellow Disney lovers are more interested in seeing YOUR smiling face. Use Mickey as your inspiration – he’s a natural at taking the perfect photo. Just look at that smile, perfectly framed, and showing off who he truly is.

Recent Photo

Which leads us to our next tip, keep it current. We want to see a photo that honestly reflects who YOU are. It’s fine if your photo is a few months out of date, but try to keep under a year old. Your main goal is to make sure that your date will be able to recognize you when you meet in person. No one likes to feel that they’ve been the victim of a bait and switch, so be upfront and honest about your age, your body type, size, and sense of style. Everyone’s Mickey or Minnie is out there – let them find the real you!

The Window to your Soul: Show Your Eyes

Sure, a pair of sunglasses can make a statement, but eyes are very important to potential suitors, so leave the shades out of your main profile picture. It’s also important that you don’t hide those pretty eyes behind a squint. When a photo is the first thing people see of your profile, let your personality shine – welcoming eyes will take you far.

No Group Photos

Don’t leave your potential caballero or dama wondering which of those “Three Caballeros” you are – remember YOU are the star of this show! Oh how we wish we didn’t have to address this particular subject, but if your photo could ever potentially lead to someone breaking out into a verse of “Put That Thing Back Where it Came from or So Help Me,” you do NOT want it on your profile.

Just relax and use photos that show your true self. We’re all Disney fans for a reason, so show off YOUR happy. Candid photos are fine, just make sure you’re the focus of the picture.

Is Your Prince is Actually a Frog?

You’ve been dreaming of a ”true loves kiss and a prince that comes with this” and now after a few dates you think you may have found your Prince Charming. How do you truly know he’s the Mickey to your Minnie? The Donald to your Daisy? The Dole to your whip? Here are a few clues that he may turn out to be a real Gaston.

He won’t take you back to his castle.
If you’ve been dating each other for a little while and he still won’t take you back to see his man cave then it could be he already has a queen in the keep. You can tell yourself he’s just embarrassed about how he lives, but the facts are, if a guy likes you, he’ll trust he can bring you home, for better or worse. Let’s face it (I say this tongue and cheek) most guys don’t know its bad until we point it out to them anyway! I once made the mistake of meeting up with a guy I had met online who lived in Europe. I flew over to meet him and after a long and fantastic weekend together, I changed my plans to travel close to the town where he lived. He was more then happy to see me again but I thought it strange he didn’t invite me to his house, although we passed within a mile of where he lived. It wasn’t until I heard him telling some women on the phone “I’ll be home late, love you” that I figured it out. He then had the audacity to tell me it was his housekeeper he was talking to!

There’s no talk of “Tomorrowland”.
If your Aladdin thinks you may be his Jasmine, then he’ll be openly day dreaming about the future of a whole new world with you. I’m not talking about after the first few dates, but after the first couple months he should be starting to imagine what life might be like with you by his side. Listen for “we” statements like “We should plan to go to Disneyland Paris next year”. I knew I was in for the long haul with my beau of five years when after a few months of dating he started planning trips with me for the following year. Hearing him talk about places we could move to together, and things we could do, showed me he was the Donald to my Daisy (literally since his name is Donald). If your guy is jumping around the issue of tomorrow like Tigger, then it may be time to give him the bounce.

He tries to Fast Pass you.
I’m sure you’ve heard my grandmother’s favorite saying “don’t give away the cow until they buy the barn.” Okay, so she took it a step further than just giving away the milk, but you get the idea. There’s no fast pass to intimacy. If you’re worth it, he’ll be more then happy to wait in the Space Mountain line of your life.

He thinks an acceptable nickname for you is Dumbo and not because you have big ears.
Cute nicknames can show affection but not if it’s done in a way to put you down or make fun of you. If he cares about you he’ll call you gorgeous, or Ariel, or, Jessica Rabbit, or something that you both find flattering. You deserve someone who honors you as the beautiful person you are. Don’t be a Dumbo by staying with this guy!

He’s a real Peter Pan (i.e. careless, selfish, childish and downright narcissistic.)
Take a page from Wendy’s book and find yourself a grown up.

His favorite Disney theme song is “Say it with a slap”.
The roles of women and men have certainly changed since the era of Mad Men, Fantasia and Fun and Fancy Free, but unfortunately one third of women still suffer domestic violence in the United States. Honor yourself and you will draw in someone who will honor you. Find someone that makes you feel like Cinderella at the ball because, love is what should make life divine. When I met my partner, I new without any question or hesitation that it was right and what an amazing feeling that was! It was so refreshing after suffering through many horrible relationships in hopes it would get better over time- it doesn’t. Time to start listening to those nagging feelings that this isn’t right. Like Snow White you may be wishing for the one you love to find you today, but have faith; someday your prince will come so put that frog back in the pond!

Dating at Disney World

Walt Disney World has been billed as the most magical place on Earth. So where better to share a date with someone special, whether you’ve been together for years or you’re just getting to know each other? Though you may not realize it, Disney World can be an amazing place to take a date.

For an experience with fewer children and more adult activities a perfect place to take a date at Disney World is the Mexico pavilion at Epcot Center. You’ll find that the pavilion holds an art gallery where, not only can you admire the original works of local artists you can also purchase a print from the gallery to take home. A little bit further in you will make your way through a temple and out to a village square that is beautifully lit up at night. Some of the highlights of this experience include a sparkling fountain and the distant sound of mariachi music. You can also shop with the merchants and purchase jewelry for yourself or your date. Towards the other end of the Mexico pavilion you will come across the San Angel Inn, which is a traditional Mexican restaurant with sit down table service. There are even tables that look directly out over the water, setting the mood for a romantic dinner.

If you’re coming from out of town and looking for a romantic hotel to stay in with your date, a popular choice is the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. With some pre-arrangements you can set up a romantic dinner date for two. When the weather is conducive to doing so, you will have the option of enjoying dinner on the balcony located on the third floor. If the weather, or your preferences, keeps you indoors you can have a private dining experience on the fifth floor, next to a floor to ceiling window that offers a breathtaking view of the resort. Though this is a pricy option, it allows you to work with a resort chef to create your own personalized dinner for two. For some extra cash you can even receive service from your own personal butler for a two hour period of time. This is one of the best ways to enjoy an alcoholic beverage with your dinner at Disney World.

No matter where you choose to take a date, Disney Word offers plenty of options for couples and potential couples of all ages. If you are just getting to know each other, a Disney World date can be an eye opener. You’ll learn a little about your date’s food and entertainment preferences as well as what makes them recapture that happy, care free feeling we all associate with our childhood years.
